Coming to You Live from the Land of Unmaterialized Web Projects*
*Which I may or may not have even discussed publically, and which you are even less likely to remember if so, so what is the point of this post title?
THE GOOD
This Saturday I went to a rollerskating slumber party in honor of the lovely and talented Agent C and her upcoming nuptuals, which was the most fun ever. Even the flailing, and the humiliation at the hands of the six-year-olds who whizzed past me at lightning speed while I wobbled and stomped my way clumsily around the rink. Shout-out to all my ladies: you are SUCH LIARS! All "oh I'm so dead" this and "tee hee it's been so long since I skated" that, and then you hit the floor and take off like the freaking Road Runner, not to mention all that knowledge of how to turn (without falling over) and stop (without smashing into a wall or a small child) and stuff. Come over here to the slow kids' rink, and I'LL show YOU out of practice!
THE BAD
A well-timed call from a realtor just kind of foiled my rant here, because: we are moving. Which will continue to be in the "bad" category until it turns into "we have moved," but is now not quite so bad as it was, because we have been approved for a lovely new apartment whose only flaw is its significant lack of closet space. The current plan is to build furniture out of the boxes of our stuff that doesn't have a home. Oh, yeah. The plus side is bigger, though: near businesses that stay open past nine o'clock (in your face, Brookline!), hardwood floors, gas stove, tiny dining room which will hold one of our desks! (Suggestions as to the weapon to be used in our "who gets the office nook" battle are welcome.)
THE UGLY
The computer hospital called on Saturday and my computer is now a sleek, stylish titanium paperweight. Uh. I am tabling the issue for the time being because what with the moving and the several million other things, the potential for the balance to tip into total-freaking-out mode is great. So! We will just pretend that there was never a computer! Yes! Until, perhaps, a holiday retail job or some such becomes feasible. Why, indeed, I do want to join the Starbucks team! Yes yes! All is well!

Notes
A word or two about the past couple of days:
1) The Copacabana nightclub is fabulous, and I highly recommend that you rent it out for a party as soon as your next lottery or trust fund check clears. Because I kind of suspect that you will want to bring your own crowd with you, rather than depend on the crowd attracted by the following dress stipulations: "Dress jeans only. Collared shirts for men. No sneakers, work boots, baggy clothes, hats or men wearing chained jewelry." Yipes! So many rules! Also note the skew toward rules for men only, thus allowing the bouncers to exercise discretion when admitting the fine young ladies. Copacabana, you do no justice to your lovely orchid-bedecked bar and fake palm tree pillars with that nonsense.
2) Thank you, Mobil station in Sturbridge Mass, for BLOWING my MIND. The Mobil station in Sturbridge Mass was selling giant Pez dispensers that dispense entire rolls of Pez, which you can then, presumably, put into your regular Pez dispenser to dispense one at a time. Meta-Pez! I stand humbled before you.

Station break
The only thing I ever write about anymore is not writing, which is as lame as can be. But: please forgive this interruption while everything that has ever happened or will ever happen happens, at work, during the next ten days. Beeeeeeep!
Also: where do you get your cute (budget-friendly) dresses? Say you were going to two different weddings of dear, devastatingly fashionable, and lovely friends this summer, and you needed an appropriately celebratory party frock to wear to them. Say also that you were damn picky, and not just any old thing that fits will do. Say that you don't care what anyone says, the rule about no black dresses at weddings is still a good one. Where do you shop?
