Are you primarily:

A) Scoopers?
B) Spreaders?
C) Stabbers?

We are big-time spreaders. There are never any clean knives. It's like you do the dishes, blink your eyes, and there are all the knives dirty in the sink. The forks run a distant second. The spoons don't stand a chance, neglected in the drawer. There are probably spoons in there that never get out, poor things.

I'm a big time scooper. Sometimes I'll do an entire dishwasher load because I'm out of spoons, and yet the forks are just gathering dust.

we have thirty spoons, six forks, and one butter knife.

I was raised a Spreader but then converted to Scooper once I got out on my own. (My mom always said Scooping always left too much peanut butter on the spoon during sandwich making. I say if you wipe the spoon on the edges of the bread there's no problem.)

I apologize for sounding like Forrest Gump in my comment. Sadly, it was unintentional.

Since all I eat is cereal and ice cream, that leaves only one conclusion really.

This is probably a sign of freakishly mundane consumption patterns, but I think I'm trotting out fork, knife, spoon, and Hello Kitty chopsticks with pretty much equal regularity.

Although I will admit, I never seem to have clean spatulas. Jesus, what does that say about my eating habits?

I'm a spreader. Sometimes a stabber depending on the consumption.

scooping the ice cream and coffee all day over here.

Scooper.

I won't eat it unless it can be scooped. ON the rare occasion I really want a sandwich, I put it in the blender first.

Stabber, I think. Definitely not a spreader.
This difference isn't as obvious in our kitchen as the difference between bowls and plates, though. We go through bowls about four times as fast.

We're scoopers. We drink so much tea there are never any spoons around.

Posted by: srah at March 27, 2004 11:50 AM

We're spreaders too. We too know what it's like to see sticky knives multiply like rabbits in the sink. But the more dramatic is cups. We can dirty every single mug, glass and jar in the house in exactly thirty-four seconds.

Scooper. I actually asked for spoons for Christmas one year because I kept running out at an alarming rate.

This possibly has something to do with the fact that I eat pretty much everything out of a bowl.
