I've been feeling a little same-old-same-old lately - too much worrying about "saleable products" and other ghastly phrases, not enough playing. Here's some head-clearing resources:
The Thrift Shop Project: in my neck of the woods, no less!
I am conflicted about the world of fashion. On the one hand, the endless fascination of self-adornment, the ability to pick an identity out of your closet. On the other hand, the pretension, the money-wasting, the people making a living off of making other people feel insecure. However, I'll keep an eye on The Sartorialist. Ignore the Beautiful-People focus, the bias towards runway looks, and for heaven's sake, bypass the shrill and strangely prissy commenters, and look for the "On the street" gems and especially the old man fashion.
I think I'll use my long-neglected Flickr page to document things I'm making; it would be nice to have a reminder when I feel uninspired, unoriginal and uproductive. Here's a start.

Does it mean something bad if I actually love to pieces the BadFashion Hobble Skirt?
And think that BadFashion sounds like a killer label that should go on the market right this minute?
