Oh hey, the midwinter curse has struck again. Murray has diabetes! Yay! That will be fun. Nothing's better than giving injections to a creature who thinks the best way to say "I am done being petted for now, thank you kindly" is with five claws to the nearest vital organ.

try getting him soft paws... they will dull the pain. of course the trick is gluing them to his sharp claws first.
