I don't know who replaced my morning Earl Grey with Infusion of Bitch on Wheels, but with sixteen minutes to go I am struggling to hold on to "just don't fall asleep or kill anyone" as my standard for the workday. Think kind thoughts for me, friends.
Posted by hilatron at January 13, 2004 04:44 PM | TrackBackSo sorry, Tron! Let's go out for pie.
Posted by: EV at January 13, 2004 04:58 PMEarl Grey be good.
Posted by: srah at January 13, 2004 07:34 PMI hope today is better for you. Work sucks after the holidays more than any other time of the year.
Or maybe you work with jerks.
Either way I am interested in the Bitch on Wheels Infusion...
Posted by: She-Dork at January 14, 2004 08:19 AMIt is just barely possible, Tron, that a weekend of riotous living among beloved friends on old stomping grounds has left you a bit tired and work a bit the drearier by contrast.
Posted by: Doombot at January 14, 2004 09:58 AMAll the more reason to go out for pie with her slightly less beloved but loyal friends on somewhat less precious stomping grounds.
Posted by: EV at January 14, 2004 11:17 AMAll of you make good points, but I must add some minor nitpicks:
a) Doombot: although we had lots of fun, I believe I can speak for all of us when I express chagrin at our collective lack of riotousness during this visit. We tried, but it was just too damn cold. However, the contrast between fun and work is a strong influence; it cannot be denied.
b) EV: the timespan of a friendship does not necessarily relate directly to its value, and I hesitate to compare quantities of belovedness. And yes, pie! (But not this week. Next week maybe?)
c) I am better now.
Posted by: Hilatron at January 14, 2004 12:45 PMit was far too cold to be rowdy, or even upright. i feel somewhat responsible, probably because jews have a lot of guilt all the time for things they can't control.
Posted by: j at January 14, 2004 04:48 PMMy dad used to end every phone conversation with "Everyday, in some way, try not to kill anybody."
