What Shelly Duvall would find in my typewriter.

Someday I will have an office with a door that closes. Someday I will have an office with a door that closes. Someday I will have an office with a door that closes. Someday I will have an office with a door that closes. Someday I will have an office with a door that closes. Someday I will have an office with a door that closes. Someday I will have an office with a door that closes. Someday I will have an office with a door that closes. Someday I will have an office with a door that closes. Etc.

I (*finally*) do have an office door that closes. But it's a paradox of frustration, because my office door is right by the main door of the office, and I am a consumate people-watcher and voyeur, so I refuse to close my door in fear that I will miss someone interesting come in the office. Yeah, I'm mentally about 11.

Doombot also has an office door which closes -- most of the way. But Doombot shares said office with a friendly man who has a belly and a white beard, so closing it gets Doombot nowhere. When staff come to Doombot's office for supervision, either we have to find another space to meet -- like the lunch room, subject to constant interruptions -- or kick the friendly man out of his office so the staff person can sit down and discuss clients in privacy.

i had an office with a door that closed this summer. it was also just about the only time i've ever worked someplace where the majority of my co-workers were pretty ok folks, so i didn't even feel the need to close the door that often.

the ideal job, eh? oh wait, i didn't get paid anything. other than that, it was great.
